Subacromial balloon spacer for irreparable rotator cuff tears of the shoulder (START:REACTS): a group-sequential, double-blind, multicentre randomised controlled trial

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the InSpace balloon for patients with irreparable rotator cuff tears. Through a double-blind, group-sequential, adaptive randomized controlled trial, it was found that the debridement only group had better outcomes, and the use of the InSpace balloon for this condition is not recommended.
