Quantification of platelet function-a comparative study of venous and arterial blood using a novel flow cytometry protocol

Mattias Tornudd et al.

Summary: Research on platelet function in surgical patients often involves taking samples from both arteries and veins. This study aimed to compare platelet function in arterial and venous blood samples using a novel flow cytometry protocol and impedance aggregometry. The results showed that for most parameters, the two methods produced similar results, but there were differences in certain conditions.
