Search for a heavy resonance decaying into a top quark and a W boson in the lepton plus jets final state at √s=13 TeV

A. Tumasyan et al.

Summary: This study presents a search for a heavy resonance decaying into a top quark and a W boson using data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. By reconstructing the top quark and the W boson from their decay products, and applying a top quark tagging technique, upper limits on the mass of the heavy resonance are obtained. The observed upper limits set the most stringent constraints on the studied models to date.

Search for single production of vector-like B quark decaying to a Higgs boson and bottom quark at the CLIC

Xin Qin et al.

Summary: The prospect of discovering the SU(2) singlet vector-like bottom quark (VLQ-B) in e(+)e(-) collisions at future Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) at the 3 TeV stage was investigated. Through full detector simulation, exclusion limits and discovery prospects were obtained on the coupling strength and integrated luminosity, with analysis on sensitivity in terms of production cross section times branching fraction at the future 3 TeV CLIC. The VLQ-B quark can be excluded or discovered in certain regions depending on the b-tagging efficiency, showing potential for future collider experiments.

Single production of vector-like top partners in trilepton channel at future 100 TeV Hadron colliders

Xi-Yan Tian et al.

Summary: The paper investigates the single production of vector-like quark T with electric charge |Q| = 2/3 in a simplified model at future 100 TeV pp colliders. The discovery potential of heavy vector-like T-quark decaying into a top quark and a Z boson in trilepton final states is explored, along with obtaining excluded regions and discovery reach in the parameter plane. Additionally, the sensitivity in terms of production cross section times branching fraction is predicted for 5% systematic uncertainty.

Summary: This study proposes, within a simplified model framework, the observation of the electroweak production of a vectorlike T quark associated with a standard model bottom quark at the HE-LHC and FCC-hh, obtaining excluded regions and discovery reach in the parameter plane, as well as analyzing the sensitivity in terms of production cross section times branching fraction at both colliders.

Single production of vector-like quarks: the effects of large width, interference and NLO corrections

Aldo Deandrea et al.

Summary: The text provides a detailed discussion on simulations for the production of single vector-like quarks at hadron colliders, covering various effects and corrections. It specifically focuses on the single production of a vector-like quark T with charge 2/3, but the method can be applied to other charges as well. Additionally, the procedure can be extended to include interactions with exotic particles.

Vectorlike top quark production via a chromomagnetic moment at the LHC

Alexander Belyaev et al.

Summary: This paper explores the potential to extend searches for the partners of the third-generation Standard Model quarks based on their expected chromomagnetic interactions, with a focus on the production of excited bottom quarks and top quark partners. The study shows that the top partner can be primarily produced via the decay of the heavier bottom partner, and investigates the production of a single top quark partner in association with an ordinary top quark by gluon fusion. This research demonstrates the potential of new channels to complement conventional strategies at the LHC, reaching partner masses up to about 3 TeV.

Looking for a vectorlike B quark at the LHC using jet substructure

Debajyoti Choudhury et al.

Summary: Vectorlike quarks have been studied for their impact on the bottom sector, with a focus on a specific topless vectorlike doublet (B, Y) and its detection prospects. It was found that the fully hadronic decay-channel of B (b) over bar with B -> b + Z/H can be discovered by using jet substructure observables, with exclusion limits on its mass at around 1.8(2.2) TeV in the Z and H channels at the 13 TeV LHC with an integrated luminosity of 300 fb(-1).

Hunting for top partner with a new signature at the LHC

Daohan Wang et al.

Summary: This study explores the discovery potential of a new signal from top partner decays at the LHC using classical machine learning methods. Results show that the future high-luminosity LHC can exclude top partner masses up to the TeV scale, and single production processes may outperform pair production processes at the 14 TeV LHC if the top partner is heavy.
