Lanostane-type triterpenoids from the mycelial mat of Ganoderma lucidum and their hepatoprotective activities

Xueqing Zhang et al.

Summary: This study isolated and identified 10 undescribed lanostane triterpenoids and 21 known compounds from statically cultured mycelial mat of G. lucidum. The hepatoprotective activities of these compounds in H2O2-induced HepG2 cells were evaluated, and the structure-activity relationship was discussed.

FPR2-based anti-inflammatory and anti-lipogenesis activities of novel meroterpenoid dimers from Ganoderma

Xing-Rong Peng et al.

Summary: Novel meroterpenoid dimers, (+/-)-applandimeric acids A-D, were isolated from Ganoderma applanatum. Compound 4 showed potential for inhibiting inflammation by binding to FPR2 and inhibiting lipid accumulation by activating the AMPK pathway in adipocytes. This compound could be a lead compound for treating obesity and related diseases.

New ent-kaurane diterpenes from the roasted arabica coffee beans and molecular docking to α-glucosidase

GuiLin Hu et al.

Summary: In this study, ten new and five known ent-kaurane diterpene derivatives were identified from roasted coffee beans. Several compounds showed moderate inhibitory effects on alpha-glucosidase, with those containing a double bond between C-15 and C-16 exhibiting stronger activity. Molecular docking experiments were also conducted to discuss the mechanism of action.

Lathyrane Diterpenoids as Novel hPXR Agonists: Isolation, Structural Modification, and Structure-Activity Relationships

Dong Huang et al.

Summary: The study identified a series of potent hPXR agonists from a library of lathyrane diterpenoids, showing better efficacy than the typical hPXR agonist rifampicin. The most active compound 8 could dose-dependently activate hPXR and up-regulate the expressions of PXR downstream genes. These findings suggest that lathyrane diterpenoids could be a new type of hPXR agonist for future anticholestasis drug development.

Applanmerotic acids A and B, two meroterpenoid dimers with an unprecedented polycyclic skeleton from Ganoderma applanatum that inhibit formyl peptide receptor 2

Xingrong Peng et al.

Summary: Two unprecedented Ganoderma meroterpenoid dimers, applanmerotic acids A and B, were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma applanatum. These compounds showed anti-inflammatory activities by inhibiting the activation of FPR2, and further studies confirmed their action mechanism.
