The exposures and health effects of benzene, toluene and naphthalene for Chinese chefs in multiple cooking styles of kitchens

Lei Huang et al.

Summary: Commercial cooking poses higher health risks due to greater intensity of volatile organic chemical pollutants compared to home cooking. This study highlights the importance of monitoring aromatic hydrocarbons in kitchens and investigating potential health effects on occupational exposed chefs. Improving ventilation in kitchens is also crucial to reduce health risks.

Using a land use regression model with machine learning to estimate ground level PM2.5

Pei-Yi Wong et al.

Summary: This study assessed the spatial-temporal variability of PM2.5 in Taiwan using a land use regression model and machine learning algorithms. The results showed that the Hybrid Kriging-LUR model combined with the XGBoost algorithm outperformed other integrated methods, providing a more accurate estimation of PM2.5 spatial-temporal variability.
