Strategies based review on near-infrared light-driven bismuth nanocomposites for environmental pollutants degradation

Anita Sudhaik et al.

Summary: Solar energy is considered a vulnerable source in addressing environmental pollution and energy scarcity. Researchers have focused on converting solar energy into chemical energy through photocatalysis processes. Many discovered photocatalysts have limited absorption capabilities, particularly in the near-infrared light region, leading to efforts to improve photocatalytic reactions and utilize the full solar spectrum. Bismuth-based nanomaterials have shown potential as efficient photocatalysts for inclusive solar energy utilization, and this review discusses strategies to enhance their absorption of near-infrared light for improved performance.
