Potentially toxic trace element pollution in long-term fertilized agricultural soils in China: A meta-analysis

Shiwei Zhou et al.

Summary: Long-term organic fertilization significantly increased total Cu, Zn, and Cd concentrations in Chinese croplands. Organic fertilizer type and application rate were key factors in determining PTTE concentrations, with organic fertilizers containing less than 1 mg/kg Cd recommended for safe application. Soil type under long-term inorganic fertilization played a main role in determining available PTTE variation, leading to higher pollution risk in certain soils.

Theoretical and Numerical Analyses on Hydro-Thermal-Salt-Mechanical Interaction of Unsaturated Salinized Soil Subjected to Typical Unidirectional Freezing Process

Xudong Zhang et al.

Summary: The freezing process of salinized soil is a complex phenomenon influenced by hydro-thermal-salt-mechanical coupling. An improved mathematical model that considers vapor flow and the relation between saturation and void ratio is established to simulate water migration, heat transfer, vapor flow, solute transport, and deformation. The model's validity is verified through numerical simulation, and the characteristics of the curves are analyzed by comparing with previous research.
