Mitochondria-targetable ratiometric fluorescence probe for carbon monoxide based on naphthalimide derivatives

Fangkai Du et al.

Summary: A ratiometric fluorescent probe (Mito-NIB-CO) was developed for imaging CO in mitochondria, undergoing structural and spectral conversion upon CO treatment in the presence of PdCl2, providing two fluorescent emission bands and exhibiting excellent selectivity and sensitivity. Moreover, the probe can specifically target mitochondria and quantify exogenous/endogenous CO in mitochondria due to the triphenylphosphonium moiety.

Naphthalimide-based a highly selective two-photon fluorescent probe for imaging of hydrogen sulfide in living cells and inflamed tissue of mouse model

Pinghua Ou et al.

Summary: Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a crucial endogenously generated gaseous signaling molecule, but its physiological and pathological relationship in inflamed tissues is still unclear. A novel two-photon bioimaging probe NP-H2S was developed with improved sensitivity for direct monitoring of H2S in complex biological samples, showing potential for further biological applications.
