High performance anode for sodium-ion batteries: Calcium pre-intercalated layered vanadium oxide/carbon composite

Yudie Tang et al.

Summary: Vanadium oxide/carbon composite materials show promising potential as electrodes for sodium ion batteries due to their high specific capacity and long cycling life. The insertion of calcium ions helps maintain material stability and conduct sufficient redox reactions. Uniform carbon coating enhances electrochemical stability and specific capacity by increasing material conductivity and inhibiting adverse side effects, leading to excellent electrochemical performance with high capacity retention rates even after multiple cycles.

In-situ synthesis of Z-Scheme MIL-100(Fe)/α-Fe2O3 heterojunction for enhanced adsorption and Visible-light photocatalytic oxidation of O-xylene

Lu Chen et al.

Summary: The MIL-100(Fe)/?-Fe2O3 photocatalysts showed high efficiency in the PCO of VOCs, with a remarkable o-xylene removal rate reaching 100% under 250W xenon lamp irradiation. The hybrid material exhibited a large specific surface area and evenly distributed active sites for effective adsorption of target molecules, suggesting potential for air purification applications. Additionally, the reversible conversion of Fe(III) and Fe(II) under light irradiation plays a key role in the oxidation of o-xylene and generation of reactive radicals in the Z-scheme structure.

Diwen Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, hydrogenated SrTiO3 was successfully prepared using NaBH4 as a reducing reagent, which exhibited significantly improved photocatalytic H-2 evolution activity in the presence of a CuS co-catalyst. The enhanced activity was attributed to the synergistic effect of the CuS co-catalyst and the appropriate oxygen vacancies produced by hydrogenation, which helped in lowering the separation of photo-generated charge carriers.
