Highly Efficient Silver Catalyst Supported by a Spherical Covalent Organic Framework for the Continuous Reduction of 4-Nitrophenol

Ning Wang et al.

Summary: Developing new materials and novel technologies for the highly efficient treatment of toxic organic pollutants is highly desirable. A method based on a spherical covalent organic framework (SCOF) for catalytic reduction has been designed, showing high catalytic reduction ability towards 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and far superior performance compared to previous reported results.

Nanoflakes-like nickel cobaltite as active electrode material for 4-nitro-phenol reduction and supercapacitor applications

Y. M. Hunge et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the catalytic reduction of nitroaromatic compounds in wastewater using nanostructured materials, specifically a ternary spinal nickel cobalt oxide electrode, which also has applications in supercapacitors. The synthesized nanoflakes-like NiCo2O4 show efficient catalytic activity and high specific capacitance for energy storage, particularly at higher synthesis temperatures like 120 degrees C. Increasing the concentration of sodium borohydride leads to improved catalytic efficiency in reducing 4-nitrophenol.

A novel strategy to construct supported silver nanocomposite as an ultra-high efficient catalyst

Shuai Jiang et al.

Summary: In this study, small-sized and evenly distributed silver nanoparticles were successfully prepared on a macroporous resin surface by introducing -SO3Ag groups and reducing in a gas/solid interface. The resulting Ag/MR catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity, with a proposed pull-push catalytic mechanism attributed to the SO3- groups. This work presents a novel strategy for creating highly efficient supported metal nanocatalysts.
