Experimental and Numerical Investigations on Exergy and Second Law Efficiency of Shell and Helical Coil Heat Exchanger Using Carboxymethyl Cellulose Based Non-Newtonian Nanofluids

Prabhakar Zainith et al.

Summary: This study investigates the characteristics of non-Newtonian nanofluids based on carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) with different nanoparticles in a helical coil heat exchanger. The results show that the use of non-Newtonian nanofluids can reduce exergy loss and improve second law efficiency.

Effects of Magnetohydrodynamics Flow on Multilayer Coatings of Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Fluids through Porous Inclined Rotating Channel

Nasir Shehzad et al.

Summary: In this study, the properties and characteristics of multilayer coatings consisting of steady Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids were investigated using parallel inclined plates. By adjusting various control parameters, it was found that an increase in magnetic field, Grashof number, and angle of inclination can alter the velocity and temperature distributions, while the Jeffrey parameter affects the velocity and temperature in Region 2.

Influence of flow pulsations and yield stress on heat transfer from a sphere

G. Mishra et al.

Summary: In this study, the momentum and heat transfer characteristics of a time-dependent flow of Bingham plastic fluid over a heated isothermal sphere were numerically investigated. It was found that the frequency and amplitude of pulsations influence heat transfer effects, depending on the nature of the fluid and flow conditions.

Sinusoidal motion of small particles through a Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer microchannel filled with non-Newtonian fluid under electro-osmotic forces

M. M. Bhatti et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the electro-osmotic flow of non-Newtonian fluid in a Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer medium in the presence of small particles moving sinusoidally, with a transverse magnetic field applied and non-Newtonian effects examined using the Jeffrey fluid model. Mathematical modeling is based on the Poisson-Boltzmann equation, Debye length approximation, and ionic Nernst Planck equation, with analytical solutions obtained using perturbation method to discuss the impact of parameters on both fluid and particulate phases, beneficial for designing and manufacturing microfluidics devices.
