Thermoluminescence glow-curve deconvolution using analytical expressions: A unified presentation

Jun Peng et al.

Summary: This study presents a unified approach for thermoluminescence (TL) glow-curve deconvolution using the open source R package tgcd, providing a comprehensive and openly accessible program for analyzing TL glow curves. The accuracy of the computerized glow curve deconvolution method depends on the model expressions used and the intrinsic trapping parameters of the TL material.

Thermoluminescence study and trapping parameters of beta irradiated NaBaBO3:Gd3+ phosphor

M. Oglakci et al.

Summary: A series of Gd3+ doped NaBaBO3 phosphors were synthesized via a combustion approach and the TL data was analyzed to evaluate basic kinetic parameters, showing that the luminescence process may follow first-order kinetics. Various analysis methods were utilized to study the TL glow peaks response and the number of component TL glow peaks in the complex glow curve. The results indicate a linear TL response up to 20 Gy and close values of activation energy were found using different methods.

Thermoluminescence study and evaluation of trapping parameters of samarium doped barium silicate phosphor

Y. Alajlani et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the TL glow curves and kinetic parameters of Sm3+-incorporated BaSi2O5, exploring the effects of heating rates on TL kinetics and glow peak temperatures. The results showed two main peaks in the TL glow curve, with maxima at around 91 degrees C and 193 degrees C, indicating good linearity between 1 and 10 Gy. The activation energies and frequency factors of trap centers involved in TL emission varied between certain ranges and showed shifts in glow peak temperatures with increasing heating rates.

Electron and hole trapping in Li2MoO4 cryogenic scintillator

M. Buryi et al.

Summary: The origin and thermal stability of charge trapping centers in Li2MoO4 cryogenic scintillators were studied using correlated EPR and TSL measurements. Up to five electron and three hole trapping centers were detected, with the electron traps attributed to MoO43- molecular complexes and hole traps related to O- lattice ions perturbed by vacancies. The thermal stability of the trapping centers was investigated and their depths determined, with TSL peaks observed in the 77-300 K temperature range associated with the depletion of detected paramagnetic centers. The impact of these centers on scintillation light yield was discussed.

Thermoluminescence of Ce and Nd co-doped CaF2 phosphors after beta irradiation

H. Yazan et al.

Summary: In this study, CaF2:Nd3+,Ce3+ phosphors were synthesized by solid state reaction method. The TL properties of these phosphors were investigated, showing that TL intensity and peak temperature are affected by heating rate, and various methods can be used to determine the number of peaks and kinetic parameters.
