N-doped three-dimensional graphene aerogel with a high loading of Ag particles as an efficient catalyst and antibacterial agent

Mengjia Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, N-doped three-dimensional graphene aerogel with different weight of Ag particles (N-GA/Ag) was successfully prepared and exhibited excellent catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol and bactericidal performance against E. coli. Surface atomic densities of exposed main planes of Ag particles were calculated and found to be related to the catalytic activity, with the {111} crystal planes showing lower catalytic activity compared to {100} planes.

Ultrafine SnO2 anchored in ordered mesoporous carbon framework for lithium storage with high capacity and rate capability

Dongdong Liu et al.

Summary: An effective strategy of anchoring ultrafine and high content SnO2 nanoparticles in ordered mesoporous carbon framework is proposed to improve the reversible capacity and sluggish reaction kinetics of SnO2-based anodes in lithium ion batteries. The ultrafine SnO2 and ordered mesoporous structure shorten diffusion distance of Li+ and enhance conversion reaction of SnO2, leading to high reversible capacity and excellent rate capabilities. The elaborately designed SnO2@OMC anodes exhibit stable capacity even after assessment of rate capability.

A review study on the recent advances in developing the heteroatom-doped graphene and porous graphene as superior anode materials for Li-ion batteries

Hamed Aghamohammadi et al.

Summary: Graphene has been a favorable anode material for Li-ion batteries due to its fascinating physicochemical properties, but issues such as restacking, agglomeration, and long transport pathways for Li-ions have limited its performance. These drawbacks can be significantly improved by functionalization and formation of porous structures, enhancing the overall electrochemical performance.
