Carboxyethyl acrylate incorporated optically clear adhesives with outstanding adhesion strength and immediate strain recoverability for stretchable electronics

Daegyun Lim et al.

Summary: In this study, UV curable acrylate-based pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) with exceptionally strong peel adhesion and good flexibility were synthesized. The synthesized films also had adequate transmittance to be used as an optically clear adhesive. By implementing a pre-straining strategy, the PSAs exhibited purely elastic characteristic with instantaneous strain recovery and were able to withstand 5000 cycles of repetitive stretching and bending tests.

Thermally conductive hexagonal boron nitride/spherical aluminum oxide hybrid composites fabricated with epoxyorganosiloxane

Gayoung Lim et al.

Summary: The study focused on enhancing the thermal conductivity of h-BN composites by using an epoxyorganosiloxane with low viscosity and incorporating spherical aluminum oxides. This led to an improvement in through-plane thermal conductivity and a reduction in viscosity despite higher filler loading in the h-BN/AO hybrid composites.

Thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of thermally conductive composites based on multifunctional epoxyorganosiloxanes and hexagonal boron nitride

Hyesun Yun et al.

Summary: This study synthesized multifunctional epoxyorganosiloxanes (MEOSs) to fabricate thermally conductive composites, demonstrating that lower molecular weight MEOSs can improve reaction rates and enhance the mechanical properties of cured composites. Furthermore, by mixing EC-1 with h-BN to fabricate composites, high filler loading was achieved, leading to high thermal conductivity and good mechanical properties in the cured composite.

Developments in pressure-sensitive adhesives: a review

Sachin Mapari et al.

Summary: Adhesives are categorized based on their chemical nature and origin, with pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) being a significant class that do not undergo any chemical reaction or physical change during the adhesion process. The use of hybrid polymers in the PSA market, characterized by silane-curing organic compounds with wide formulation tolerance and outstanding mechanical properties, is a major trend. The article discusses various types of PSAs, recent trends based on application properties, and their synthesis techniques.
