SnO2/NiFe2O4/graphene nanocomposites as anode materials for lithium ion batteries

Honglong Shen et al.

Summary: SnO2/NiFe2O4/graphene (SNG) nanocomposites were synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal method for use in Lithium ion batteries, exhibiting good electrochemical performance. Increasing SnO2 content led to enhanced electrochemical performance, with high reversible and discharge capacities observed. The synergistic effects between NiFe2O4/SnO2 and the SnO2 buffer layers, along with the electrical conductivity enhancement and volume accommodation provided by graphene sheets, contribute to the improved cycling stability and rate capability.

Electrochemical property of hierarchical flower-like α-Ni(OH)2 as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries

Jinhuan Yao et al.

Summary: Transition metal hydroxides (TMHs), especially hierarchical flower-like alpha-Ni(OH)(2), are attracting attention as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries due to their high reversible capacity and superior rate capability. The charge-storage mechanism and kinetics of alpha-Ni(OH)(2) are mainly controlled by pseudocapacitive behavior, demonstrating its potential for high-performance LIBs.
