The importance of biological control in agriculture and livestock has led to an increase in research on efficient microorganisms. Duddingtonia flagrans has been studied for the management of parasitic nematodes and plant growth promotion.
The importance of biological control in agriculture and livestock has led to an increase in the investigation into efficient microorganisms for the control of diseases and pests. In this context, the fungus Duddingtonia flagrans has been studied for the management of parasitic nematodes in domestic animals, alongside recent investigations on plant parasitic nematodes and plant development. In addition to capturing nematodes through the production of traps in the soil, this nematophagous fungus also develops in the root and promotes plant growth. This review aims to summarise the main information about D. flagrans and demonstrate how much the application of this fungus has increased in recent years.
