Taguchi design-assisted co-immobilization of lipase A and B from Candida antarctica onto chitosan: Characterization, kinetic resolution application, and docking studies

Katerine da S. Moreira et al.

Summary: In this study, co-immobilization of lipase A and lipase B from Candida antarctica in glutaraldehyde-activated chitosan was optimized using the Taguchi method, achieving a high immobilization yield and activity. The CALA-CALB-CHI derivative showed a longer half-life and higher catalytic activity compared to the soluble enzyme mixture under different pH conditions. Additionally, the immobilized derivative demonstrated excellent performance in the kinetic resolution of halohydrins acetates, producing enantiomerically enriched products that are important intermediates in drug synthesis.
