Design and synthesis of chromone-nitrogen mustard derivatives and evaluation of anti-breast cancer activity

Jianan Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of nitrogen mustard derivatives of chromone were designed and synthesized, among which one compound showed the most potent antiproliferative activity against breast tumor cells and exhibited certain selectivity between tumor cells and normal cells. This compound possibly induced G2/M phase arrest and apoptosis in tumor cells by generating intracellular ROS and activating DNA damage, leading to inhibition of tumor cell metastasis, invasion, and adhesion.

Repurposing of existing FDA approved drugs for Neprilysin inhibition: An in-silico study

Runali Sankhe et al.

Summary: Neprilysin (NEP) plays important roles in multiple physiological systems, and targeting NEP for functional inhibition could be a promising therapeutic approach. In this study, an in-silico drug repurposing method was used to identify potential NEP inhibitors. Through molecular docking and molecular dynamics studies, it was found that ZINC000000601283 and ZINC000003831594 may act as NEP inhibitors.

Design, Synthesis, Characterization and Anticancer Evaluation of Novel Mixed Complexes Derived from 2-(1H-Benzimizadol-2-yl)aniline Schiff base and 2-Mercaptobenzimidazole or 2-Aminobenzothiazole

Fahad Mohammad Alminderej et al.

Summary: Two Schiff base ligands were synthesized and mixed complexes were obtained by reacting with copper salt and different co-ligands. The ligands and metal complexes were identified using multiple spectroscopic techniques. X-ray powder diffraction analysis revealed different structures for the complexes. Complex (6) showed significant anticancer activity against lung cancer cell line A-549.
