One-step synthesis of oxygen-defects modified Ta2O5 nanosheets with high photocatalytic performance by chemical vapor deposition method

Zheng Li et al.

Summary: In this study, novel hexagonal Ta2O5 nanosheets with oxygen defects were synthesized in a single step using chemical vapor deposition, showing excellent photocatalytic degradation capacity. Oxygen defects were found to promote the separation of photogenerated carriers in Ta2O5 nanosheets. Singlet oxygen was identified as the main active species contributing to the high-efficiency degradation of RhB under the combined action of other active species.

Novel AgI/BiSbO4 heterojunction for efficient photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants under visible light: Interfacial electron transfer pathway, DFT calculation and degradation mechanism study

Zhuangzhuang Wang et al.

Summary: A novel AgI/BiSbO4 heterojunction photocatalyst was constructed, enhancing the generation of hydroxyl and superoxide radicals for efficient degradation of organic pollutants. Characterizations and theoretical calculations confirmed strong interfacial charge transfer and the formation of Ag-0 NPs during the photocatalytic process, further promoting the separation of photoinduced carriers. Proposed photocatalytic degradation pathways and mechanisms provide insights for the development of AgI-based heterojunction photocatalysts.

Structure and optical properties of iron doped ZnSe microspheres

Tingting Li et al.

Summary: In this study, iron (Fe) doped ZnSe microspheres were successfully synthesized by solvothermal method. The incorporation of Fe2+ cations did not alter the morphology of the microspheres, and a growth mechanism for the Fe-doped ZnSe microspheres was proposed. Doping with Fe ions resulted in an increase in band gap, a blue-shift in photoluminescence (PL) peaks in the visible region, and a decrease in PL lifetimes in the visible range.

ZnSe/CdSe Z-scheme composites with Se vacancy for efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction

Dongyang Li et al.

Summary: The study focuses on preparing ZnSe/CdSe composites by epitaxial growth of CdSe on ZnSe nanoparticles, which exhibit higher CO2 photoreduction performance under visible-light irradiation compared to pristine ZnSe. Experimental results indicate that Se vacancy in the ZnSe/CdSe composites can facilitate CO2 adsorption.

A novel high-efficiency photocatalyst Ta2O5/PtCl2 nanosheets for benzotriazole degradation

Zheng Li et al.

Summary: The Ta2O5/PtCl2 nanosheets have excellent visible light absorption capacity due to the local surface plasma resonance (LSPR) effect. The photocatalyst achieves the best degradation effect with a mass ratio of Ta2O5 and PtCl2 at 1:1, removing about 99% of rhodamine B (5 mg/L) in 30 min and 94% of benzotriazole (10 mg/L) in 120 min, with corresponding apparent first-order kinetic constants of 1.06 * 10(-1) (min(-1)) and 2.11 * 10(-2) (min(-1)).
