Enhanced spin-orbit torque in Ni81Fe19/Pt bilayer with NdNiO3 contact

Seyeop Jeong et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that spin orbit torque (SOT) can be enhanced in hybrid systems composed of metal-oxide structures, potentially due to spin absorption at the interface between different layers. This finding suggests promising prospects for the development of efficient spin-orbitronic devices.

Origin of spin-orbit torque in single-layer CoFeB investigated via in-plane harmonic Hall measurements

Ye Du et al.

Summary: The study quantitatively investigates the current-induced spin-orbit torque in single-layer ferromagnetic CoFeB thin films using in-plane harmonic Hall measurements. The results show that the damping-like (DL) and field-like (FL) torques exhibit opposite trends of ferromagnetic layer thickness dependence before saturation, suggesting different spin torque efficiencies. The findings provide strong evidence that the DL torque originates from a spin-Hall-like charge-spin conversion, while the FL torque stems from interfacial effects like the Rashba-Edelstein effect.
