Switching magnon chirality in artificial ferrimagnet

Yahui Liu et al.

Summary: The authors demonstrate possible magnon chirality switching, reading, and modulation in an artificial ferrimagnet multilayer, showing chirality as an independent degree of freedom. This result provides a practical platform for developing chirality-based spintronics.

Spin Dynamic Damping of Py Induced by Gd Capping

Fengxian Wang et al.

Summary: The magnetic dynamic behaviors of permalloy films capped with gadolinium were studied, with the effects of increasing Gd thickness decreasing the saturation magnetization and surface anisotropy constant while enhancing the Gilbert damping. The introduction of a copper insert at the interface suppressed these trends, attributed to antiferromagnetic coupling between Gd and Py near the interface caused by the magnetic proximity effect.

Temperature-Dependent Spin Transport and Current-Induced Torques in Superconductor-Ferromagnet Heterostructures

M. Mueller et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the injection of quasiparticle spin currents into a superconductor via spin pumping from an adjacent ferromagnetic metal layer. We observe a suppression of the dampinglike torque generated in the Pt layer by the inverse spin Hall effect below the superconducting transition temperature Tc, along with a large fieldlike current-induced torque.

Chiral-induced spin selectivity enables a room-temperature spin light-emitting diode

Young-Hoon Kim et al.

Summary: Traditional optoelectronic approaches rely on both electrical and magnetic fields to control spin, charge, and light, while the use of chiral-induced spin selectivity (CISS) technology allows for the fabrication of a spin-LED that operates at room temperature without the need for magnetic fields or ferromagnetic contacts.

Thermal Gating of Magnon Exchange in Magnetic Multilayers with Antiferromagnetic Spacers

D. M. Polishchuk et al.

Summary: In spin-valve type trilayers, a strong thermally controlled magnon-mediated interlayer coupling of two ferromagnetic layers is observed via an antiferromagnetic spacer. The effect manifests as coherent switching and collective resonant precession, which can be controlled by varying temperature and spacer thickness. The observed behavior is explained by a strong hybridization of ferro- and antiferromagnetic magnon modes in the trilayer at temperatures near the Neel temperature of the antiferromagnetic spacer.
