Phytoplankton-zooplankton interaction under environmental stochasticity: Survival, extinction and stability

Abhijit Majumder et al.

Summary: Deterministic mathematical models are commonly used to study predator-prey interactions for a better understanding of population dynamics. However, these models have limitations in capturing environmental noise and demographic stochasticity. This paper investigates a minimal deterministic model of phytoplankton-zooplankton interaction and compares its dynamics with stochastic versions formulated by two different techniques.

Modeling Rabies Transmission in Spatially Heterogeneous Environments via θ-diffusion

Xiunan Wang et al.

Summary: Rabies among dogs poses a significant risk to humans worldwide. Traditional mathematical models for rabies have mainly focused on homogeneous environments, but recent research has shown that spatial heterogeneity plays a key role in determining the spread of rabies. A spatially heterogeneous dog rabies model using the theta-diffusion equation was developed in this study, revealing that different initial conditions can impact the observation of waves and the speed of spread in heterogeneous environments.

Dynamics of a stochastic rabies epidemic model with Markovian switching

Hao Peng et al.

Summary: In this paper, we analyzed a stochastic rabies epidemic model perturbed by white noise and telegraph noise. We proved the existence of a unique global positive solution, established a sufficient condition for the existence of a unique ergodic stationary distribution of positive solutions, and discussed sufficient conditions for disease extinction. Numerical simulations were used to illustrate the theoretical results.

Exploring the Stochastic Host-Pathogen Tuberculosis Model with Adaptive Immune Response

S. P. Rajasekar et al.

Summary: This literature examines a stochastic host-pathogen tuberculosis model with four states of epidemiological classification, relevant to both the latent and active stages of tuberculosis infection. The model is based on the environmental impact on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and macrophage populations, with stochastic perturbations proportional to each state. The study demonstrates the existence and uniqueness of a global positive solution, provides conditions for the extinction of the tubercle bacillus, and establishes the existence of the stationary distribution of positive solutions through the Lyapunov function method. Numerical simulations validate the analytical findings and dynamics of the stochastic TB model.
