Summary: This paper explores the meaning of the power set in evidence theory and proposes a possible explanation of the power set based on Pascal's triangle and combinatorial number. It introduces a new kind of set called random permutation set (RPS), which consists of permutation event space (PES) and permutation mass function (PMF). The paper also discusses and summarizes the comparisons of probability theory, evidence theory, and RPS, and presents an RPS-based data fusion algorithm, which is applied in threat assessment and proves to effectively handle uncertainty.

Transparent Digital Twin for Output Control Using Belief Rule Base

Leilei Chang et al.

Summary: The transparent digital twin (DT) designed for output control using the belief rule base (BRB), namely DT-BRB, aims to model complex relationships between system inputs and outputs, and control outputs by identifying and optimizing key parameters in the inputs. The approach consists of three major steps: modeling input-output relationships with BRB, identifying key parameters with high contribution to the output, and data-driven optimization for output control. A case study on the Wuhan Metro System shows that the proposed DT-BRB approach is effective in reducing the building tilt rate without the need for iterative optimizations.

Summary: Understanding the socially influenced decision-making process for voluntary vaccination is crucial for developing strategies and interventions against vaccine-preventable diseases. Factors such as vaccine safety, disease severity, and advice from healthcare professionals influence individuals' intention to vaccinate. Limited research has been conducted on systematically analyzing how individuals' vaccine acceptance decisions are made from their beliefs and judgements on influential factors. The spreading of vaccination-related information in a social network can affect individuals' decision making and overall vaccination coverage.
