Investigations on the formability, tensile properties, TEM, 3D-surface roughness and corrosion behaviour on Ti-6Al-4V alloy sheets during single point and multi point incremental forming process

Shaik Heruthunnisa et al.

Summary: This paper studies the formability, tensile properties, dislocation density, and surface roughness of incrementally deformed Ti-6Al-4V alloy sheets during single-point incremental forming (SPIF) and multi-point incremental forming (MPIF) processes. It also examines the corrosion behavior in 3.5% NaCl solution during SPIF and MPIF processes. The results show that the MPIF process provides higher plastic deformation, tensile strength, surface roughness, and corrosion resistance compared to the SPIF process.

Influence of micro-nano surface texture on the hydrophobicity and corrosion resistance of a Ti6Al4V alloy surface

Bochun Xu et al.

Summary: The micro-nano surface texture can enhance the hydrophobicity of the Ti6Al4V surface, potentially reducing friction of implants in vivo. However, surface hydrophobicity did not correlate with corrosion resistance; samples with nanotubes and high-density micro-nano surface texture showed significantly improved corrosion resistance, indicating similar performance.
