This paper presents two benchmark problems for nuclear well logging, Dracary-G and Dracary-N. The detailed construction and validation process of these benchmark problems are described. Monte Carlo code Geant4 is used for simulation, and the results are compared with test pit measurements, showing good agreement.
This paper presents two nuclear well logging benchmark problems denoted as Dracarys (Development for Reservoir Analysis and Characterization using Activated neutron and gamma RAYs). These benchmark problems include Dracary-G: a gamma density tool, and Dracary-N: a compensated neutron porosity tool. Both are described in sufficient details that have been validated using experimental data so that any potential nuclear code user could reconstruct them for computational purposes. In this work, the two benchmark problems are calculated using Monte Carlo code Geant4 and results are compared to test pit measurement. Good agreement is obtained between the simulation and the measurement. (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
