Carbon Calculators as a Tool for Assessing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Livestock

O. E. Sukhoveeva

Summary: This study analyzed the effectiveness of carbon calculators in assessing emissions from livestock production, with the conclusion that full grazing is the most efficient method for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture. Recommendations include gradual reduction of domestic animals and comprehensive use of different calculators due to discrepancies in estimates.

A comparison of farm labour, profitability, and carbon footprint of different management strategies in Northern European grassland sheep systems

C. Morgan-Davies et al.

Summary: This trans-European study investigates the impact of different sheep management strategies on farm labor input, carbon footprint, and on-farm profitability. Results demonstrate that efficiency in carbon and labor can be increased by adopting technology, changing breeding management, or ewe breed on sheep farms.
