Investigation on film cooling and aerodynamic performance of blade tip with tangential jet cooling scheme at transonic flow

Summary: An innovative blade tip cooling system with tangential jet cooling scheme was investigated using the Pressure Sensitive Paint (PSP) technique. The research found that with the increase of mass flow ratio, the film cooling effectiveness of the entire blade tip surface improved, while a small tip clearance gap shrinks the low effectiveness region near the mid-chord cavity on the suction side.
