Investigation on the tunability of the band structure of two-dimensional magnetorheological elastomers phononic crystals plate

Wei Yan et al.

Summary: The study investigated the propagation of elastic waves in a 2D MREs-PnCs plate with double-sided stubs tunable by an external magnetic field. Increasing the applied magnetic field widened and shifted the complete band gap, while introducing defect modes resulted in defect bands in the dispersion relation. This research fills a gap in experimental studies and provides a design basis for future MRE-PnCs structures.
