Numerical investigation and optimization of flat plate transpiration-film combined cooling structure

Yumei Lv et al.

Summary: A new optimized structure, named transpiration-film combined cooling structure, is proposed to improve the cooling effectiveness of laminated structure at higher Bi-number. By replacing the lower impingement plate with a porous layer, the outside film coverage is improved and the internal heat transfer is enhanced. The numerical results show that the combined structure significantly improves the overall cooling effectiveness, temperature uniformity, and reduces the frictional resistance on the structure surface.

Effect of SiO2 deposition on thermal stability of Al2O3-SiO2 aerogel

Huijun Yu et al.

Summary: The SiO2-deposited Al2O3-SiO2 aerogel (Si-ASA) with high thermal stability and mechanical properties was synthesized by silica deposition method. Compared with ASA without silica deposition, Si-ASA maintains higher specific surface areas after being calcined at high temperatures, inhibits the formation of mullite phase, and restrains the growth of gamma-Al2O3 by forming more Si-OA-l bonds.
