Controllable fabrication of a supramolecular polymer incorporating twisted cucurbit[14]uril and cucurbit[8]uril via self-sorting

Wei Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a linear supramolecular polymer with controllable features was constructed based on twisted cucurbit[14]uril and cucurbit[8]uril using an effective self-sorting strategy. By inserting and π-π stacking, the polymerization and depolymerization of the supramolecular polymer were achieved. This strategy provides a new approach for the design of supramolecular polymer materials and the application of twisted cucurbit[14]uril in supramolecular chemistry.

A Twisted Cucurbit[14]Uril-Based Fluorescent Supramolecular Polymer Mediated by Metal Ion

Yang Luo et al.

Summary: This study describes the formation of a loose and porous fluorescent supramolecular polymer through the host-guest interactions between twisted cucurbit[n]uril and a water-soluble fluorescent compound. The addition of Ni2+ significantly reduces the emission and impacts the morphology of the polymer, providing a new method for controlling polymer structure through coordination-type interactions.

Twisted cucurbit[14]uril: A new type of CTE macrocycle for Fe3+ sensing

Wei Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports for the first time the luminescence phenomenon of twisted cucurbit[14]uril (tQ[14]), revealing it as a new clustering-triggered emission (CTE) compound. The luminescence characteristics and mechanism of tQ[14] in formic acid were systematically studied, confirming that the clustering emission of tQ[14] arises from multiply n-pi* interactions and hydrogen bonding. Additionally, the potential application of tQ[14] as an Fe3+ sensor was demonstrated, with a detection limit (LOD) of 1.71 x 10- 5 M.

A supramolecular fluorescent probe based on cucurbit[10]uril for sensing the pesticide dodine

Yang Luo et al.

Summary: A new fluorescent probe, PBA@Q[10], was developed for the selective recognition and determination of dodine among 20 different pesticides. The probe's response mechanism is based on competitive interaction where dodine displaces PBA from the cavity of Q[10]. The detection limit of the probe is 6.78 x 10 (7) mol/L.

Photocontrolled Light-Harvesting Supramolecular Assembly Based on Aggregation-Induced Excimer Emission

Jing-Jing Li et al.

Summary: The photocontrolled light-harvesting supramolecular assembly utilizes COONa-gamma-CD to induce aggregation of PYC12, modulating fluorescence from monomeric to assembled state with a significant red-shift. This system demonstrates highly efficient energy transfer from PYC12/COONa-gamma-CD to NiR, achieving an energy transfer efficiency of up to 83% at a specific donor/acceptor ratio. Additionally, multicolor tunable emission, including white-light emission, can be achieved by adjusting the molar ratios of donor and acceptor in the assembly.
