System dynamics approach of knowledge transfer from projects to the project-based organization

Qianwen Zhou et al.

Summary: This study examines the factors influencing knowledge transfer from projects to project-based organizations (PBOs) and uses a system dynamics method to analyze how these factors integrate into the transfer process. The findings show that the model can simulate the knowledge transfer process to some extent and highlight the impact of variables from five dimensions on knowledge transfer. The study also provides recommendations for enhancing knowledge transfer and developing an integrated knowledge-transfer mechanism for PBOs and projects.

System dynamics analytical modeling approach for construction project management research: A critical review and future directions

Xiaoxiao Xu et al.

Summary: Building and infrastructure construction projects are complex systems comprised of multiple subsystems. System dynamics (SD) has been utilized to address construction project management issues, but a comprehensive review of its application is lacking. Careful consideration should be given to model boundary, development, testing, and simulation when applying SD in construction management. SD has been applied to various research topics such as sustainable construction, decision making, and risk management, among others.
