Statistical assumptions in L2 research: A systematic review

Summary: The article examined the reporting of checks on assumptions in two major journals of second-language research over a six-year period and found that only 17% and 24% of the sample met the stringent and lenient standards, respectively. While improvements are needed in researchers' practices of checking and reporting assumptions, there are also some positive changes taking place over time.
