Exercise training in women with cardiovascular disease: Differential response and barriers - review and perspective

Isabel Witvrouwen et al.

Summary: Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation is highly recommended for coronary artery disease and heart failure, but the response to exercise training varies among individuals, especially between men and women. Women rely more on fat oxidation, have lower aerobic capacities and smaller increases in cardiac function during exercise. More studies focusing on female patients are needed to tailor exercise prescription and improve outcomes.

Speckle Tracking Echocardiography: Early Predictor of Diagnosis and Prognosis in Coronary Artery Disease

Maria Concetta Pastore et al.

Summary: Speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) is a useful tool for the assessment and follow-up of coronary artery disease (CAD), providing more accurate information by detecting subtle myocardial damage and localizing ischemic territories. Its application in clinical practice is increasingly widespread.

Brief Vigorous Stair Climbing Effectively Improves Cardiorespiratory Fitness in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease: A Randomized Trial

Emily C. Dunford et al.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the effects of high-intensity interval stair climbing intervention with traditional cardiac rehabilitation exercise on cardiorespiratory fitness (.VO2peak). The results showed that both interventions were effective in improving .VO2peak, with the high-intensity interval stair climbing group demonstrating a more significant impact during the first 4 weeks of training.
