Consensus Definition of Misophonia: A Delphi Study

Susan E. Swedo et al.

Summary: Misophonia is a disorder characterized by decreased tolerance to specific sounds or their associated stimuli. The lack of a common understanding or definition has hindered progress in researching and treating misophonia. This study used an expert committee to develop a consensus definition of misophonia through a rigorous consensus-building process. The final definition will help researchers and clinicians better understand and support individuals with misophonia.
