Effect of fineness on the pozzolanic reaction kinetics of slag in composite binders: Experiment and modelling

Yongxiang Zhou et al.

Summary: The study found that the reaction rate of ultrafine slag is higher and the gap is larger at high temperatures, and the reaction degree increases with the fineness of slag. The fineness of slag has little impact on the nucleation and linear growth rates of the reaction products per unit surface area, but leads to an increase in the quantity of products.

Pozzolanic activity and hydration properties of feldspar after mechanical activation

Geng Yao et al.

Summary: This study found that mechanical activation can improve the pozzolanic activity of feldspar, with the pozzolanic activity index of feldspar powders meeting the standard for cement materials after 20 minutes of grinding. The activated feldspar powders can react with calcium hydroxide to form gel with hydraulic properties in the presence of water at room temperature.

Beneficiation of ponded coal ash through chemi-mechanical grinding

Giada Innocenti et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that chemi-mechanical beneficiation technique can improve the reactivity of low quality ponded coal ash by forming additional terminal silanol groups, increasing amorphous content, and showing better results than traditional dry grinding methods.
