Study of scavengers for free formaldehyde reduction in phenolic resins used in polychloroprene based contact adhesives

Vidula Ramdugwar et al.

Summary: The objective of this study was to identify and analyze suitable scavengers for reducing the free formaldehyde content in phenolic resins. The addition of sodium sulphite and sodium metabisulphite as scavengers was found to not affect the performance of adhesives.
