n-type charge transport in heavily p-doped polymers

Zhiming Liang et al.

Summary: It has been shown through Seebeck coefficient and Hall effect measurements that mobile electrons play a significant role in charge-carrier transport in p-conjugated polymers heavily p-doped with strong electron acceptors. Doping with oxidizing agents eliminates the transport gap at high doping concentrations, indicating a promising route to high-performance n-type organic thermoelectric materials.

Toward High Mobility Green Solvent-Processable Conjugated Polymers: A Systematic Study on Chalcogen Effect in Poly(Diketopyrrolopyrrole-alt-Terchalcogenophene)s

Zhongli Wang et al.

Summary: Nine DPP-based conjugated polymers were synthesized and the impact of various chalcogenophenes on solubility, film morphology, and charge transport properties was explored. It was found that certain combinations of chalcogenophenes led to high hole mobility in the resulting polymers, especially when processed with green solvents. The study highlights the importance of chalcogenophene selection for designing high mobility CPs.
