Controllable Generation of Reactive Oxygen Species on Cyano-Group-Modified Carbon Nitride for Selective Epoxidation of Styrene

Hao Tan et al.

Summary: The controlled generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) for selective epoxidation of styrene is achieved through the use of cyano-group-modified carbon nitrides catalysts, which show improved performance in regulating ROS and enhancing the yield and selectivity of styrene oxide. The cyano group acts as the adsorption and activation site for oxygen, forming a unique structure that inhibits the formation of H2O2 and,OH, leading to increased styrene oxide selectivity. This strategy provides new insights into spatial configuration control for tuning the utilization of oxygen-active species and has potential industrial applications.
