Concise synthesis of quercetagetin (3,3′,4′,5,6,7-hexahydroxyflavone) with antioxidant and antibacterial activities

The synthetic quercetagetin exhibited the highest antioxidant activity compared to control compounds and displayed potent antibacterial activity against MRSA strains. Time-kill kinetic studies revealed that the synthetic quercetagetin possesses bacteriostatic action.
