Mitigation of Airborne PRRSV Transmission with UV Light Treatment: Proof-of-Concept

Summary: The study found that UV-C lamps (222nm and 254nm) effectively irradiated and inactivated PRRSV virus with relatively low cost, while UV-A lamps (365nm) were ineffective in reducing PRRSV titers. Pilot-scale testing of UV-C on PRRSV aerosols is recommended to verify its effectiveness and cost compared to HEPA filtration.
