Triglyceride and fatty acid composition of ruminants milk, human milk, and infant formulae

Xiaodan Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, the triglyceride and fatty acid composition of different types of milk samples and infant formulae were analyzed using UPLC-ESI-MS and GC techniques. The results showed that the triglyceride and fatty acid composition varied significantly among different milk samples. Furthermore, the fatty acid profiles of human milk and yak milk were unique, which has implications for optimizing dairy product composition.

NMN Maintains Intestinal Homeostasis by Regulating the Gut Microbiota

Pan Huang et al.

Summary: The study showed that long-term NMN treatment increased the abundance of beneficial bacteria such as butyric acid-producing bacteria and Akkermansia muciniphila, while decreasing harmful bacteria like Bilophila and Oscillibacter. It also increased the levels of bile acid-related metabolites in feces. Moreover, NMN treatment improved intestinal mucosal permeability by increasing goblet cell numbers, mucus thickness, and tight junction protein expression.

Diet supplemented either with dried chicory root or chicory inulin significantly influence kidney and liver mineral content and antioxidative capacity in growing pigs

A. Lepczynski et al.

Summary: The dietary supplementation of dried chicory root or native chicory inulin improved liver histology and oxidative balance in growing pigs, while affecting mineral and heavy metal content. Both supplements had the potential to enhance Se status and oxidoreductive homeostasis in the animals.

Dietary supplementation with inulin improves lactation performance and serum lipids by regulating the rumen microbiome and metabolome in dairy cows

Yue Wang et al.

Summary: The addition of inulin in dairy cow feed can increase milk yield and nutrient content, lower rumen pH, improve microbial composition, and impact lipid and amino acid metabolism in the serum.
