Homogeneous sub-nanophase network tailoring of dual organosilica membrane for enhancing CO2 gas separation

Jing-Yi Li et al.

Summary: Dual organosilica membranes were synthesized and the effects of different chemical ratios on membrane performance were investigated. The reaction mechanism behind CO2 capture using the membranes at ambient conditions was studied. It was found that BTESE has high CO2 affinity and glycidyl POSS contributes to dimensional and mechanical stability of the membranes.

Pervaporation via silicon-based membranes: Correlation and prediction of performance in pervaporation and gas permeation

Norihiro Moriyama et al.

Summary: Pervaporation (PV) is a membrane technology with great potential for industrial applications. Research shows that the dehydration of different types of organic solvents in PV on various membranes results in different water permeance values, which are closely related to hydrogen permeance. This correlation allows for the prediction of PV performance using single-gas permeation properties.

Recent Progress in a Membrane-Based Technique for Propylene/Propane Separation

Meng Guo et al.

Summary: The similar physico-chemical properties of propylene and propane molecules make their separation challenging. Membrane separation techniques offer significant prospects in propylene/propane separation due to their low energy consumption and investment costs. Organosilica membranes have attracted attention for their good molecular sieving properties and high hydrothermal stability.
