Single-wavelength water muted photoacoustic system for detecting physiological concentrations of endogenous molecules

Chao Xu et al.

Summary: This study developed a single wavelength photoacoustic system in the SWIR region to detect endogenous molecules in aqueous media based on the breakthrough technology of water muting on photoacoustic spectroscopy. The system implemented a robust photoacoustic resonant cell to significantly enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of acoustic waves. The experimental results showed a precision detection of physiological concentrations of biomolecules, combining water muting and photoacoustic resonant amplification techniques in a portable and low-cost single wavelength laser system.
