Game-Theoretic Modeling of Multi-Vehicle Interactions at Uncontrolled Intersections

Nan Li et al.

Summary: In this paper, we propose a game-theoretic framework for simulating the interactive behavior between autonomous and human-driven vehicles in traffic. The model exhibits reasonable traffic behavior and capability in resolving conflicts, and has manageable computational complexity compared to traditional models.

Pay for Intersection Priority: A Free Market Mechanism for Connected Vehicles

Dianchao Lin et al.

Summary: The article proposes an economic instrument and cooperative framework for prioritizing vehicles at intersections based on their disclosed value of time, which benefits the majority of users in simulation experiments. The framework incentivizes travelers to correctly estimate their value of time and discourages cheating attempts naturally.

Online incentive-compatible mechanisms for traffic intersection auctions

David Rey et al.

Summary: The study introduces novel online mechanisms for traffic intersection auctions where users bid for priority service. Two Markov chain models are proposed to determine the expected waiting time of participants in the auction, along with a mechanism to calculate incentive-compatible payments in the dynamic sense, maximizing social welfare in the long run. Findings suggest that the proposed online mechanisms are incentive-compatible in the dynamic sense, in contrast to static incentive-compatible mechanisms that may lead to misreporting by users.

LUCIDGames: Online Unscented Inverse Dynamic Games for Adaptive Trajectory Prediction and Planning

Simon Le Cleac'h et al.

Summary: LUCIDGames is an inverse optimal control algorithm that can estimate other agents' objective functions in real time and incorporate those estimates into a game-theoretic planner. The algorithm solves the inverse optimal control problem by recasting it in a recursive parameter-estimation framework, using an unscented Kalman filter to iteratively update a Bayesian estimate of the other agents' cost function parameters.
