Adsorption and sensing performances of transition metal (Ag, Pd, Pt, Rh, and Ru) modified WSe2 monolayer upon SF6 decomposition gases (SOF2 and SO2F2)

Zhicheng Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, the adsorption of SF6 decomposition products on transition metal modified WSe2 was explored. The results showed that while certain modified systems were sensitive to gases, the five modified systems studied were not suitable for gas-sensing equipment in relation to SF6 decomposition products. Other modified systems can be used to detect gases by measuring the change in conductivity after adsorption.

A density functional theory study of the adsorption of Cl2, NH3, and NO2 on Ag3-doped WSe2 monolayers

Hongwan Mi et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that Ag-3-WSe2 monolayers have better adsorption capabilities for industrial toxic gases Cl-2, NO2, and NH3 than WSe2 monolayers, suggesting their potential as candidate materials for gas detection. Furthermore, it offers guidance for further research on transition metal cluster-doped WSe2 monolayers for gas detection applications.

Adsorption property of CO, NO, and NO2 gas molecules on Co3-MoSe2 monolayer

Lingna Xu et al.

Summary: The study utilized first-principles calculation to investigate the adsorption performance of Co3MoSe2 monolayers towards CO, NO, and NO2 gases, showing potential applications as hazardous gas sensors or adsorbents. Results indicated that Co3 cluster doping improved the electrical conductivity of MoSe2 monolayers and the adsorption of gases involved chemical adsorption with strong behavior. Co3-MoSe2 was found to be an ideal adsorbent for storing or removing CO, NO, and NO2, providing a theoretical basis for future applications in gas detection.

Adsorption properties of Ag2O-MoSe2 towards SF6 decomposed products

Hong Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that Ag2O-MoSe2 has a higher adsorption capacity for SF6 characteristic decomposition products in the order of H2S>SO2>SO2F2>SOF2. H2S and SO2 adsorption is chemisorption, while SOF2 and SO2F2 adsorption is physisorption. H2S is difficult to desorb after adsorption, whereas SO2 has a shorter desorption time, improving detection efficiency.
