Zero-dose children and the immunisation cascade: Understanding immunisation pathways in low and middle-income countries

Bianca O. Cata-Preta et al.

Summary: Analysis of survey data from 92 low- and middle-income countries showed that 7.7% of children were in the zero-dose group, with 70.9% receiving all four basic vaccines and 59.9% fully immunised. Disparities were observed in vaccine coverage based on household wealth, with a significant dropout rate noted in the immunisation cascade.

Finding Children with High Risk of Non-Vaccination in 92 Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Decision Tree Approach

Thiago M. Santos et al.

Summary: The study identified high-risk groups of children who received no vaccines, including those who did not receive the four basic vaccines. One high-risk group included children whose mothers did not receive the tetanus vaccine, had no antenatal care visits, and did not deliver in a health facility. This highlights the need for better integration among services to achieve high and equitable immunization coverage.
