Human leucocyte antigen association of patients with Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis with severe ocular complications in Han Chinese

Kevin Sheng-Kai Ma et al.

Summary: HLA-A*02:07 and HLA-B*46:01 alleles were significantly associated with severe ocular complications (SOCs) among Han Chinese patients with cold medicine-induced Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS/TEN). These findings indicate genetic diversity in SJS pathogenesis among different ethnic groups.

Er:YAG laser irradiation enhances bacterial and lipopolysaccharide clearance and human gingival fibroblast adhesion on titanium discs

Chen-Ying Wang et al.

Summary: The study showed that curettage plus Er:YAG laser irradiation was the most effective method for removing bacteria and lipopolysaccharide. There was no significant difference in fibroblast adhesion between the control group and the group receiving combined treatment. The use of Er:YAG laser irradiation in conjunction with curettage optimized lipopolysaccharide clearance and fibroblast adhesion on titanium discs.

Summary: Combining radiotherapy and immunotherapy can improve the survival rate of patients with malignancies developed through escape from T-cell-mediated immune surveillance. This study presents a case of a psoriatic patient with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC), demonstrating the potential efficacy of the triple-regimen therapy (TRT) with low-dose DCs and anti-PD-L1 combined with radiotherapy in treating cSCC patients.
