Studying the influence of 3.1 THz irradiation on the endocytosis of neuronal cells

Erling Hu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of THz irradiation at 3.1 THz frequency on the endocytosis of neuronal cells. The results showed that THz irradiation could alter the endocytic process, enhancing it in resting cells and inhibiting it in excited cells. In the presence of dynasore, THz irradiation significantly increased the fluorescence intensity.

Terahertz pulses induce segment renewal via cell proliferation and differentiation overriding the endogenous regeneration program of the earthworm Eisenia andrei

Mahmoudh Abufadda et al.

Summary: The experiment showed that Terahertz irradiation can stimulate cell proliferation, tissue regeneration, and organ formation, resulting in a higher number of regenerated segments, specifically enhancing the central nervous system development and blood vessels in treated animals. This suggests the potential of THz pulses in efficiently triggering biological processes and potential applications in medicine.

0.1 THz exposure affects primary hippocampus neuron gene expression via alternating transcription factor binding

Sen Shang et al.

Summary: Terahertz (THz) radiation has attracted interest in biomedical applications due to its ability to induce cellular responses without damaging covalent bonds. Research suggests that THz radiation may impact gene expression by affecting the interaction between transcription factors and DNA.
