Graphene oxide nanofiltration membranes for desalination under realistic conditions

Zhongzhen Wang et al.

Summary: The study presents graphene oxide membranes intercalated with polyaromatic cations, showing sustainable nanofiltration performance under realistic conditions and scalability for industrial applications. The observed enhanced rejections for salts and neutral solutes in these membranes can be understood by a dual mechanism of interlayer spacing modulation and creation of diffusion barriers.
