Mo-doping induced crystal orientation reconstruction and oxygen vacancy on BiVO4 homojunction for enhanced solar-driven water splitting

Ming Fang et al.

Summary: Fabrication junction and doping are two major methods to improve the charge separation and transfer efficiency of BiVO4 photoanode. The study reports a Mo doped BiVO4 homojunction with abundant oxygen vacancies, which shows an obvious enhancement in photocurrent compared to the pristine BVO. Using graphene as the hole extraction layer and CoPi as the cocatalysts, the CoPi/Gr/Mo:BVO photoanode exhibits high OER activity under illumination.

Understanding the Role of Vanadium Vacancies in BiVO4 for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation

Thanh Tran-Phu et al.

Summary: The study explores the impact of vanadium vacancies on the efficiency of BiVO4 photoanodes for water photooxidation, revealing that vanadium deficiency leads to increased recombination rate of photogenerated carriers and lower water oxidation efficiency. Elimination of vanadium vacancies results in prolonged carrier lifetimes, increased catalytically active sites, and a twofold increase in photocurrent during water oxidation.

Effects of the initial flux ratio on CeSb2 crystal growth by a self-flux method

Shulong Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, high-quality single crystals of CeSb2 were grown by a self-flux method and the effect of growth conditions on crystal quality was investigated. It was found that an inappropriate raw material ratio leads to poor crystal quality. Electrical transport properties and magnetoresistance properties were measured to evaluate crystal homogeneity and quality.
